Sew Many Visions is a
quilt pattern company owned by Vicki Arnold and Pat Gates. They have
been friends and business partners for a number of years, during which time
they have produced over 60 patterns, 2 books and an original tool "Triangle
Tracer™"
for the fast and accurate marking of diagonal lines for half-square
triangles and various other applications.
Designs by Vicki and
Pat can be classified as simple elegance. Early patterns were created to be
small weekend projects, wall hangings, and banners, with motifs ranging from
floral to landscape. However, the line now includes larger wall quilts,
table runners, mantel scarves, placemats, and bed quilts.
It is an overall
company goal to produce designs with broad appeal, and a variety of sewing
techniques. For those quilters who enjoy appliqué, there is a multitude of
patterns with detailed instructions for both needle-turn work and
machine/fusible appliqué. For those who prefer piecework, innovative
settings for traditional blocks can be found in all their patterns. Most
offer several techniques within a single pattern.
Vicki developed her own
method of fusible appliqué, which does not require reversing the pieces,
leaving less margin for error. And Pat does a beautiful job of putting
Vicki’s designs into print, with helpful graphics and computer generated
alternate settings for the motifs.
Sew Many Visions is
represented by several distributors nationwide, but Vicki and Pat also enjoy
traveling to quilt shows including the International Quilt Festival in
Houston. They also do trunk shows, demos, and classes tailored to meet the
specific needs of Guilds. To book them for your show or event, e-mail them
at sewmanyvisions@gmail.com.
